November 29, 2012 – Howard Nations issues a challenge to ALL Houston Area Law Firms to Donate to the HPD Comida Food Drive. For the past 27 years HPD has partnered with Fiesta Mart, Inc., The Pepsi Bottling Group and the Houston Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association to collect, package and distribute boxes of food to Houston’s underprivileged families. Last year HPD was able to provide 3,500 boxes of food to places of worship for distribution to families in need.
Cindy Nations, the firm’s Managing Partner, presented a $1,000 check to HPD this afternoon. She challenged all law firms to help make the holiday a little brighter for many Houston area families.
To place an online donation go to www.houstonpolice.org, click on the “Comida Food Drive” and then the “Make a Donation” button. Online donations are being accepted now through December 1, with 100% of all cash donations to go toward the purchase of basic bulk food staples.
Volunteers will be at 14 area Fiesta Marts (locations listed below) to accept food and cash donations Thursday November 29, and Friday November 30, noon to 8 p.m., and on Saturday December 1, and Sunday December 2, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
