In Loving Memory of Andrea Schmauss

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend, Andrea Schmauss.

Andrea is much more than a dear friend; she is family to those of us at the Nations law firm.

For 34 remarkable years, Andrea has been a vital cornerstone in building our firm through her positivity, her belief in our mission, her deep empathy for our clients, and through her leadership as an exemplar of dedication and professionalism.

Andrea’s positive attitude, kindness, and spirit was infectious with her co-workers as she touched the lives of everyone she met. She lived her life with an open loving heart, always finding ways to uplift others and make our world a better place. Her bubbly personality filled us with warmth and happiness that brightened the lives of her Nations law family since she joined the firm on June 11, 1990.

Andrea’s greatest gift was her lifetime commitment to be of service to others. Beyond her decades of daily positive input into our firm family, Andrea devoted many years of volunteer service with the Houston Police Family Support Unit, demonstrating not only her deep commitment to the brave members of law enforcement but also her empathy for the crime victims with whom she worked. Houston has lost a worthy representative of our law enforcement volunteer community.

Andrea’s legacy to us is a lifetime of cherished memories, her impassioned empathetic acts of service to those in need, and a profound example of how to live life with purpose and grace. We will remember her not just as an exemplary colleague and volunteer but also as a cherished friend and a shining light in our lives. Andrea was an exemplar of faith, hope and positivity for others in the way she coped with her own life challenges. Her selflessness, empathy and unwavering compassion were brightly reflected in her unwavering support of her firm family colleagues and our clients, her volunteer assistance to those in need, her unwavering commitment to Police Family support, her love of the Police officers, and her empathic assistance to crime victims.

Our hearts are with her family, friends, and all who share in our loss of this dearly beloved reflection of God’s goodness. As Andrea rests in peace amidst her heavenly rewards for her faith-filled life, it is proper that we mourn our loss while celebrating her life well-lived: a life dedicated to service to others, delivered with love and kindness, based on her unyielding belief in the goodness of people.

On a personal note, Andrea worked directly with me, and she greatly influenced and enriched my life since the day we met. To each of us at her firm family, we shall continue to be inspired by her positive attitude about life, her dedication to the needs of others and, most importantly, her deep and abiding love of life and all of us with whom she shared it.

Andrea: Thank you for all that you shared with us. You will be forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Go with God
